The No. 7-ranked University of West Florida women’s tennis team defeated No. 34 Georgia College 5-1 and Central Oklahoma 5-0 at home Tuesday afternoon. West Florida (11-4, 4-0 GSC) earns back-to-back wins after dropping four out of its last five matches.
West Florida won five out of six doubles matches on the afternoon. Monika Kochanova (Bratislava, Slovakia) and Laure-Eline Faure (Toulouse, France) got two wins at number one doubles while Nina Bubelova (Považská Bystrica, Slovakia) and Fernanda Amaral (Curitiba, Brazil) got back-to-back wins at number three doubles.
No. 20 Kochanova won at number one singles 6-1, 6-1 while Faure won 6-4, 6-2 at number two singles in the first match of the day. Amaral clinched the 5-1 win over No. 34 Georgia College with a 6-2, 6-4 win at number six singles.
Katarina Dikosavljevic (Queensland, Australia) won 6-1, 6-1 at number three singles while Sarai Flores (Mexico City, Mexico) won at number four singles 6-1, 6-0 in the second match of the day.
